Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. seeks a Fire Protection Engineer to lead the fire protection design, construction, operations, and maintenance for our data centers.

You'll cover fire suppression, detection, alarm, and life-safety systems while aligning with prescriptive and performance-based methods to protect people and data. You will collaborate with architects, mechanical, electrical, and construction teams; review vendor submittals; and contribute to continuous improvement of design standards

Qualifications

• 5+ years of data center engineering or operations experience.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical field.
• Knowledge of building codes and regulations including Life Safety, NFPA, NEC, or OSHA.
• Licensed Fire Protection Engineer certification is required or preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design and oversee fire water service infrastructure with site-level requirements.
• Review designs to verify compliance with NFPA, ICC, and AHJ expectations.
• Prepare prescriptive and performance-based designs for fire suppression, alarm, detection systems.
• Collaborate with construction, commissioning, operations, and risk management teams throughout projects.
• Drive improvements to fire protection design standards and templates across the organization.
