Job summary

Supermicro is seeking a Service Engineer to support its Global Service network. The role involves providing technical support by phone and web, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, and working in a data center and call center environment from the Jersey City, NJ office.

You will diagnose hardware, software, and network issues, install and rack data center hardware, and collaborate with engineering and data center staff to ensure uptime and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in CS/CE/EE or equivalent engineering field.
• 1+ year experience servicing complex X86 systems and parts.
• 1+ year experience in customer support.
• Strong hardware diagnostics and BIOS/drivers understanding.
• Ability to troubleshoot in fast-paced environment.
• Experience with enterprise server hardware.
• Valid driver's license and ability to lift 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Provide frontline technical support to end-users via phone, email, and ticketing system.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues.
• Escalate complex problems to higher-level support.
• Install, rack and stack data center hardware.
• Assist in deploying server, storage, and networking equipment.
• Monitor data center infrastructure for uptime.
• Perform maintenance and upgrades on data center hardware and software.
• Collaborate with data center staff to resolve issues.
• Coordinate with engineering for seamless integration.
• Travel up to 50% to customer sites and data centers.
