Job summary

Supermicro is seeking a highly skilled Service Engineer to support our Global Service network and contribute to building a world-class field engineering organization. This role requires flexibility to work in a data center and call center environment, providing technical support via phone and web to customers experiencing hardware and software issues.

This position will be based in our office located in Jersey City, NJ.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering; or an Associate’s degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering with relevant experience.
• 2+ years of experience servicing complex X86 systems and parts.
• 2+ years in a customer support role.
• Experience with BIOS, drivers and application-related issues.

Responsibilities

• Provide frontline technical support to end-users via phone, email, and ticketing system.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware, software, and network-related issues.
• Escalate complex problems to higher-level support teams when necessary.
• Perform physical installation, rack and stack, cabling, and networking of data center hardware.
• Travel up to 50% to customer sites and data centers.
