Job summary

Amazon Inc. is hiring an Data Center Engineering Operations Technician to support mission-critical data center facilities. You will monitor and maintain electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety systems, respond to incidents, and work with on-site teams to ensure continuous operation.

The role involves 24/7 site presence with rotating shifts, on-call rotations at times, and close collaboration with facilities managers to keep data centers running safely and efficiently.

Qualifications

2+ years of practical experience in electrical, mechanical, HVAC or fire suppression systems.
Ability to work shifts longer than eight hours.
Comfort with climbing ladders and working at heights.

Responsibilities

Perform daily rounds monitoring electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment to ensure 24/7 reliability.
Monitor Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical Power Management System (EPMS).
Troubleshoot facility and rack-level events within SLAs; perform rack installs and decommissions.
Conduct PM, troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and repairs of electrical and mechanical equipment.
Provide technical writing to support change management and monitor work requests to drive to completion.
Support on-site contractors, sub-contractors, and vendors in accordance with practices and local legislation.
