Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. is seeking an on-site Data Center Technician to perform front-line maintenance and troubleshoot mission-critical equipment across multiple data centers.

You will monitor electrical, mechanical, and life-safety systems, collaborate with contractors, and support change management through detailed documentation. Shifts include 12-hour rotations with possible on-call; you may work at various sites and must stay prepared to handle 24/7 operations in a fast-paced cloud

Qualifications

• 2+ years of practical experience in electrical, mechanical, HVAC, or fire suppression systems.
• Ability to bend or twist the body into unusual positions and work at heights and on ladders.
• Willingness to work long shifts and be on-site 24/7 as required.
• Strong problem-solving and documentation skills for PM and RCA tasks.

Responsibilities

• Daily building rounds to monitor electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment.
• Monitor Building Management Systems (BMS) and EPMS.
• Assist in troubleshooting facility and rack-level events within SLAs.
• Perform rack installs and decommissioning within SLA.
• Perform PM, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and repair of equipment.
• Prepare technical writing to support change management.
• Track work requests and manage to resolution; execute projects end-to-end.
• Provide on-site support of contractors and ensure work adheres to procedures and regulations.
• Shift schedules may rotate up to 12 hours; some locations have on-call.
• Role may support more than one location/site.
