Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a Project Manager for Building Solutions North America to lead data center construction projects across the United States. The role is remote within the U.S. and may require frequent travel to client sites, sometimes exceeding 50% of time.

Responsibilities include ensuring profitable project execution, coordinating with sales, installation, and project teams, and managing scope, schedule, and budget while maintaining cash flow and compliance with safety standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Civil, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or Architecture or equivalent.
• Minimum eight years of direct project management experience in building construction, preferably data centers.
• PMI/PMP certification within two years of employment desired.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for non-technical audiences.
• Proficiency in project management and financial software; MS Office, Adobe Writer, and Visio favored.
• Willingness to travel ~10% or more depending on project.

Responsibilities

• Act as on-site leader for execution teams and manage project schedules.
• Evaluate scopes of work and pursue change orders for additional work.
• Manage costs, billings, and collections to maintain profitability.
• Communicate progress and financial status to management with risk tools.
• Ensure document controls meet contract requirements and safety standards.
• Coordinate meetings, training, and cross-functional resource allocation.
• Foster safety, accountability, and integrity across staff and subcontractors.
