Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. is seeking a Data Center Engineering Technician to maintain, operate, and troubleshoot mission‑critical facilities. You will handle diesel generators, three‑phase power, cooling systems, and fire/life safety while ensuring 99.999% uptime across AWS data centers.

The role requires travel to different data centers, flexible scheduling, and collaboration with a diverse team of engineers and operations staff. Relocation stipends may be provided where eligible.

Qualifications

• Electrical or mechanical experience in data centers or mission‑critical facilities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Willingness to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Daily building rounds to monitor electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment for 24/7 reliability.
• Monitor Building Management Systems (BMS) and EPMS.
• Troubleshoot facility and rack‑level events within internal SLAs.
• Perform rack installs and decommissioning within SLA.
• PM, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and repair of electrical and mechanical equipment.
• Create technical change management documentation.
• Manage daily work requests, drive projects from conception to completion.
• Provide on‑site support to contractors and vendors per procedures and local laws.
• Role may support multiple locations; shifts up to 12 hours with possible on‑call rotations.
