Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Data Center Engineering Technician to maintain and troubleshoot mission-critical facilities across AWS data centers, ensuring 24/7 uptime. You will monitor generators, UPS, PDUs, chillers, cooling systems, and fire/life safety equipment while supporting change management and cross-site collaboration.

The role involves 12-hour shifts, travel between data centers, and on-site work with vendors and contractors to sustain reliability and safety.

Qualifications

2+ years of MS Office experience.
2+ years of electrical or mechanical engineering experience.
Ability to work a flexible schedule including days, nights, and/or weekends.

Responsibilities

Daily building rounds to monitor electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment.
Monitor Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical Power Management System (EPMS).
Troubleshoot facility and rack-level events within SLAs.
Perform rack installs and decommissioning within SLA.
PM, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and repair of equipment.
Technical writing to support change management.
Manage daily work requests and execute projects from conception to completion.
On-site support of contractors and vendors ensuring adherence to procedures and local laws.
