Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. is seeking a Data Center Engineering Technician to maintain, operate, and troubleshoot mission-critical facilities, including standby generators, switchgear, UPS, PDUs, CRAC units, chillers, cooling towers and related systems.

You will perform rounds, monitor BMS/EPMS, and support change management to keep data centers running at peak reliability. This role requires 1+ years in electrical or mechanical or data center environments, a high school diploma, and willingness

Qualifications

1+ years of electrical or mechanical, or 1+ years of data center or mission critical facilities experience.
High school or equivalent diploma.
Willingness to travel to data center locations as needed.

Responsibilities

Daily building rounds to monitor and record information from electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment to ensure 24/7 reliability and availability.
Monitor Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical Power Management System (EPMS).
Assist in troubleshooting of facility and rack-level events within internal SLA.
Perform rack installs and rack decommissioning within internal SLA.
Perform PM, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and repair of electrical and mechanical equipment.
On-site support of contractors, sub-contractors and vendors, ensuring that all work performed is in accordance with established practices and local legislation.
Work schedule changes depending on site needs; shifts up to 12 hours and possible on-call rotations.
