Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. is seeking a Data Center Engineering Technician to maintain mission‑critical infrastructure and ensure 99.999% uptime.

The role covers monitoring electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety systems, performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting rack‑level events, and supporting change management. Responsibilities include on‑site coordination with contractors, travel between data centers as needed, and working shifts up to 12 hours on rotation.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of electrical or mechanical experience.
• 1+ years’ experience with Microsoft Office products.
• Ability to work on a flexible schedule including days, nights, and/or weekends.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily building rounds to monitor electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment for 24/7 reliability.
• Monitor Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical Power Management System (EPMS).
• Assist in troubleshooting facility and rack‑level events within internal SLA.
• Perform rack installs and decommissioning within internal SLA.
• Perform preventive maintenance and repair of electrical and mechanical equipment; conduct root cause analysis.
• Support change management with technical writing.
• Coordinate on-site with contractors and vendors to ensure work follows procedures and local regulations.
• Shift schedules can include up to 12 hours and may rotate; role may support multiple sites.
