Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Data Center Engineering Technician to join our team in Sparks, NV. You’ll be on the front line maintaining mission-critical electrical and mechanical systems, including generators, switchgear, UPS, PDUs, cooling, and fire/life safety equipment to support 24/7 uptime.

You will perform PMs, troubleshooting, and rack-level work, coordinate with contractors, and adapt to rotating shifts. Travel between sites may be required, with a focus on safety and compliance.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of electrical or mechanical, or data center experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1+ year of Microsoft Office experience.
• Willingness to travel between data center locations.

Responsibilities

• Daily building rounds to monitor electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment to ensure 24/7 reliability.
• Monitor Building Management Systems and Electrical Power Management System.
• Troubleshoot facility and rack-level events within SLA.
• Perform rack installs and decommissioning within SLA.
• PM, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and repair of electrical and mechanical equipment.
• Technical writing to support change management.
• Manage daily work requests and execute projects from conception to completion.
• On-site support of contractors and vendors ensuring compliance with practices and local laws.
