Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. is seeking a Data Center Engineering Technician to join our Engineering Operations team.

You will maintain, operate, and troubleshoot mission-critical facilities, including standby generators, switchgear, UPS, PDUs, and cooling systems, to support 24/7 uptime. You will work with diverse teams across AWS, follow safety and change-management procedures, and travel to multiple data center sites as required.

Qualifications

2+ years of Microsoft Office products and applications experience.
Willingness to work a flexible schedule including weekends, nights, and holidays.
2+ years of electrical and mechanical facilities maintenance, or 2+ years of electrical facilities maintenance and 1+ years of mechanical facilities maintenance experience.

Responsibilities

Daily building rounds to monitor electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment for 24/7 reliability.
Monitor Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical Power Management System (EPMS).
Assist in troubleshooting facility and rack-level events within SLAs.
Perform rack installs and decommissioning within SLAs.
PM, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and repair of electrical and mechanical equipment.
Technical writing to support change management program.
Monitor daily work requests and manage to resolution; execute projects from conception to completion.
On-site support of contractors, sub-contractors and vendors ensuring work adheres to practices and local legislation.
