Job summary

Amazon Web Services in the United States, OH, New Albany, is hiring a Data Center Chief Engineer to ensure peak performance of electrical, mechanical, and life-safety equipment and to lead maintenance and emergency response efforts.

You will partner with onsite technicians and vendors, drive standardized practices, and support facility projects while maintaining safety and reliability standards for a world-class cloud infrastructure.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of electrical and mechanical facilities maintenance experience.
• 3+ years of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel experience.
• Experience reading and writing procedures, technical documents, and engineering drawings.

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary escalation point for all facilities-related issues and oversee operations of critical systems.
• Perform root cause analysis of equipment failures and troubleshoot facility issues within SLAs.
• Provide training and guidance to Engineering Operations Technicians and coordinate with the Facility Manager to set team culture.
• Create and deploy new standard practices for engineering operations and vendor support teams.
• Assist in building out new facilities and projects to improve current efficiency.
• Work outside normal hours for routine maintenance and after-hours emergencies.
