Job summary

Amazon AWS is seeking a Data Center Chief Engineer to lead the DCEO Engineering Team and ensure peak performance of electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety systems across our data centers. This role focuses on planned maintenance, rapid response to outages, and collaboration with onsite technicians and third-party vendors.

You will drive capacity planning, performance benchmarks, and reporting while coordinating with IT leaders to optimize safety, reliability, and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
• Experience in vendor management.
• Experience in a data center or other critical environment.
• Experience in data center engineering or operations.
• Experience with Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Lead the DCEO Engineering Team and establish performance benchmarks.
• Oversee on-site management of shift technicians, sub-contractors, and vendors.
• Coordinate operation and maintenance of critical systems (switchgear, generators, UPS, chillers, RHAC).
• Perform capacity planning and reporting for data center facilities.
• Collaborate with IT managers to coordinate projects and ensure safety, reliability and efficiency.
