Job summary

Jones Lang LaSalle Incorporated is seeking an Assistant Chief Engineer, Data Centers in Amarillo, TX to oversee mission-critical facilities and guide a technical team. You will work with the Chief Engineer to optimize reliability, performance and efficiency of data center infrastructure.

Key duties include supervising engineers and technicians, monitoring power and cooling systems, and coordinating with safety and regulatory teams.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in data center operations and management.
• Strong knowledge of data center infrastructure including power distribution and cooling.
• Proven leadership and team management abilities.
• Certification in at least one area (e.g., CDCP, DCPRO) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in managing data center facility operations and maintenance activities.
• Supervise and mentor engineers, technicians, and contractors.
• Monitor critical systems performance (power, cooling, network).
• Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure safety, security, and regulatory compliance.
• Participate in capacity planning and infrastructure upgrades.
• Respond to critical incidents and emergencies.
• Prepare technical reports and presentations for management and clients.
• Be the first point of contact for service-impacting events involving electrical distribution.
• Assist in root cause analysis (RCAs) and after-hours support.
