Job summary

AECOM seeks an Electrical Engineer with 2+ years of building MEP electrical design experience to work on data center projects. This role offers remote flexibility within the US and occasional travel for client meetings and milestones.

You will design electrical systems, perform calculations, develop drawings, and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams under senior engineers. Strong NEC knowledge and collaboration skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Architectural Engineering.
• 2+ years of building MEP electrical design experience.
• Experience with Revit and AutoCAD preferred.
• Knowledge of NEC and building codes (IBC, IECC) is a plus.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the design of electrical systems for mission critical and data center facilities, including medium- and low-voltage power distribution, emergency power, lighting, grounding, and life safety systems.
• Perform electrical calculations and assist with equipment sizing, load calculations, and other engineering analyses.
• Develop electrical plans, one-line diagrams, schedules, details, and specifications under the guidance of senior engineers.
• Apply applicable codes and standards, including the NEC, to electrical design and documentation.
• Coordinate electrical designs with architectural, mechanical, structural, civil, and other disciplines.
• Support senior engineers in resolving technical and construction-related issues.
• Participate in project meetings and coordinate with clients, contractors, and other project stakeholders.
• Develop knowledge of data center electrical systems, including reliability, redundancy, and maintainability requirements.
• Continue developing technical and professional skills through project experience, mentoring, and training.
