Job summary

Jacobs is seeking an Electrical Construction Technical Services Specialist for a Corpus Christi, TX project. You will resolve in-progress issues, interpret drawings and specifications, and provide on-site technical support, liaising with home office and client representatives.

You will manage revision control, assist with permitting with AHJs, and mentor junior staff, supported by a hybrid work policy and a base salary range of 85,000 to 116,800 USD per year.

Qualifications

• 4–7 years of experience in electrical engineering or 8–10 years in construction management of heavy-industrial facilities including life sciences and data centers.
• Basic understanding of construction means, methods, codes and standards.
• Experience interpreting home office engineering documents for construction purposes.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent, including certified technical training.
• Effective oral and written communication.
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.

Responsibilities

• Resolve in-progress issues, discrepancies, or disputes related to technical interpretation of drawings and specifications; coordinate home office response.
• Liaise with home office engineering, outside engineering firms, and client representatives.
• Provide on-site technical support interpreting engineering released documents, specs and drawings; input to change management.
• Engage in permitting processes with AHJs.
• Work with Design-Build contractors as projects move to field.
• Communicate with subcontractors to manage drawings and documents revision-controlled.
• Ensure revision control for all construction documents.
• Manage changes in design and installation; communicate field design changes.
• Work with Field Quality, contractor and Home Office Engineering to resolve NCRs.
• Provide mentorship to junior team members.
