Job summary

Jacobs is hiring for a Mechanical Construction Technical Services Specialist for a Corpus Christi, TX project. You will engage with home office engineering, clients, and subcontractors to interpret drawings, manage revisions, and support field construction activities in a fast-growing data center sector.

The role emphasizes on-site technical leadership, permitting, and coordination with Design-Build teams, AHJs, and project controls to ensure timely delivery and adherence to project specs.

Qualifications

• 4–7 years in Mechanical engineering or 8–10 years in heavy-industrial construction management.
• Able to read mechanical drawings and interpret engineering documents.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent with certified technical training.
• Effective oral and written communication.
• Basic understanding of construction means, methods, codes, standards.

Responsibilities

• Engage in resolving in-progress issues related to technical interpretation of drawings and specifications; clarify and expedite response to meet project needs.
• Liaise with home office engineering, outside engineering firms, and client representatives.
• Provide on-site technical support in interpretation of engineering released documents, specs, and drawings, including input to change management.
• Engage in the Permitting process with AHJs and authorities having jurisdiction.
• Work with Design-Build contractors as their work moves to the field.
• Communicate with subcontractors to manage drawings and documents with revision control.
• Ensure revision control is in place for all construction documents.
• Manage and communicate changes in design and installation.
• Support field design revision process with Project Controls and Construction.
• Act as technically competent lead in responses to deviation requests within approved processes.
• Coordinate with Field Quality, contractor, and Home Office Engineering to resolve NCRs.
• Provide mentorship to junior team members.
