Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Mechanical Construction Technical Services Specialist for a Corpus Christi, TX project. You will engage in resolving technical interpretation issues, liaise with home office and clients, and provide on-site support for drawings, specifications, and change management.

You will mentor team members, ensure revision control, and coordinate with AHJs and field contractors as part of a hybrid, field-and-office role in the data center environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent experience.
• 4–7 years in mechanical engineering or 8–10 years in construction management of heavy-industrial facilities.
• Able to read and understand mechanical drawings.
• Experience interpreting home office engineering documents for construction purposes.
• Effective oral and written communication.

Responsibilities

• Resolve in-progress issues related to drawings and specifications with timely responses and expediting home office response.
• Liaise with home office engineering, outside engineering firms, and client representatives.
• Provide on-site technical support interpreting engineering documents and drawings, including input to change management.
• Engage in the Permitting process with AHJs and interface with authorities.
• Work with Design-Build contractors as field work progresses.
• Ensure revision control is in place for construction documents and that contractors have latest revisions.
• Manage changes in design and installation and communicate timely information about potential changes.
• Support field quality, NCR resolution, and mentor junior team members.
