Job summary

Jacobs is seeking an Electrical Construction Technical Services Specialist for a Corpus Christi, TX project. You will engage in resolving technical issues, interpreting drawings and specs, and supporting field teams on data center construction.

You’ll liaise with home office engineering, manage revision control, support AHJ permitting, and mentor junior engineers to ensure on-time, quality deliverables. Hybrid work is possible with a focus on collaboration and on-site execution.

Qualifications

• 4–7 years of experience in Electrical engineering or 8–10 years in construction management of heavy‑industrial facilities including life sciences and datacenters.
• Basic understanding of construction‑oriented means, methods, codes, and standards.
• Experience interpreting home office engineering documents for construction purposes.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent experience, including certified technical training.
• Effective oral and written communication.
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.

Responsibilities

• Resolve in-progress issues, discrepancies, or disputes related to technical interpretation of drawings and specifications; expediting home office/engineer responses to meet project needs.
• Liaise with home office engineering, outside engineering firms, and client representatives.
• Provide on-site technical support in interpretation of engineering released documents, specifications, and drawings, including input to change management.
• Engage in permitting processes with Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs) and work with Design‑Build contractors.
• Ensure revision control is in place for all construction documents and that contractors have the latest revisions.
• Mentor and guide subordinate team members toward project objectives.
