Job summary

Jacobs is seeking an Electrical BIM Designer to join our data center design team. You will manage Revit BIM models and produce 3D models and 2D drawings in coordination with multidisciplinary designers across Jacobs projects.

The role requires strong knowledge of electrical systems and industry standards. You will collaborate with discipline leads and clients, ensuring model accuracy and constructability while adhering to Jacobs design practices.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3+ years BIM design experience.
• 3+ years electrical systems design experience.
• Understanding of codes and standards shaping design decisions.
• Understanding design specifications and their function.
• Basic wiring/cabling knowledge.
• Experience following client design and modeling standards.
• Familiarity with Bluebeam or similar markup software.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to estimate hours from mark-ups or direction.
• Willingness to learn new things.

Responsibilities

• Design documentation and management of Revit BIM models in coordination with other discipline leads.
• Produce fully coordinated 3D models across design disciplines and create 2D construction drawings.
• Coordinate with designers, discipline leads, architects and engineers on Jacobs design team.
• Ensure designs align with Jacobs standards and client requirements.
• Collaborate to turn design intent into constructable deliverables including clash checks.
