Job summary

Jacobs is seeking an Electrical BIM Designer to contribute to design documentation and manage Revit BIM models across disciplines, coordinating with design leads to deliver constructible 3D models and 2D drawings. You will work under electrical leads, applying Jacobs standards and client requirements while showcasing your Revit expertise.

You will join a collaborative team focused on accuracy, timelines, and detail orientation, supporting data center projects within a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• At least 3 years BIM design experience.
• At least 3 years relevant experience in electrical systems design and construction.
• Growing understanding of how codes and standards shape design decisions.
• Growing understanding of design and construction specifications and their function.
• Basic understanding of wiring/cabling connections in relation to a circuit or a link between devices and equipment.
• Experience following client design and modeling standards.
• Familiarity with Bluebeam or similar markup software.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to estimate hours required for design and modeling efforts based on provided mark-ups and/or verbal direction requests.
• Willingness to learn new things.

Responsibilities

• Design documentation and setup/manage Revit BIM models across disciplines.
• Coordinate with electrical discipline leads and team members to ensure constructible deliverables.
• Create and manage 3D models and 2D construction drawings.
• Ensure models are clash-free and aligned with Jacobs standards and client requirements.
• Collaborate with designers, engineers, and architects to support project delivery.
