Job summary

Jacobs is seeking an Electrical BIM Designer to join a fast-paced, collaborative team. You will set up and manage Revit BIM models for electrical systems, coordinating with other discipline BIM leads to deliver constructible 3D models and accurate 2D drawings.

Working under electrical discipline leads, you will ensure models align with Jacobs and client BIM standards, perform clash detection, and help translate design intent into deliverables across disciplines, including C,S,A,M,E,P,T,I,L.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• At least 3 years of BIM design experience.
• At least 3 years of relevant experience in electrical systems design and the construction industry.
• A growing understanding of how codes and standards shape design decisions.
• A growing understanding of design and construction specifications and their function.
• Basic understanding of wiring/cabling connections in relation to a circuit or a link between devices and equipment.
• Experience following client design and modeling standards.
• Familiarity with Bluebeam or similar markup software.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to estimate hours required for design and modeling efforts based on provided mark-ups and/or verbal direction requests.
• Willingness to learn new things.

Responsibilities

• Electrical BIM Designer, you will be engaged in the design documentation while being responsible for the set-up and management of Revit BIM models in coordination with other discipline BIM leads and team members.
• Create and manage content towards fully coordinated 3D models across all design disciplines and create 2D construction drawings.
• Collaborate with other designers, discipline leads, architects and engineers to deliver constructible deliverables and clash-free models.
• Follow Jacobs design methods with attention to detail to meet client BIM standards.
