Job summary

Jacobs is hiring an Electrical BIM Designer to develop and manage Revit BIM models for electrical design, coordinating with other disciplines to deliver fully coordinated 3D models and 2D drawings. The role emphasizes adherence to project standards and collaboration within a multidisciplinary team.

You will work on design documentation, clash-free model creation, and coordination with senior electrical leads.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• At least 3 years of BIM design experience.
• At least 3 years of relevant experience in electrical systems design and the construction industry.
• A growing understanding of how codes and standards shape design decisions.
• A growing understanding of design and construction specifications and their function.
• Basic understanding of wiring/cabling connections in relation to a circuit or a link between devices and equipment.
• Experience following client design and modeling standards.
• Familiarity with Bluebeam or similar markup software.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to estimate hours required for design and modeling efforts based on provided mark-ups and/or verbal direction requests.
• Willingness to learn new things.

Responsibilities

• Design documentation and setup/management of Revit BIM models.
• Coordinate with discipline BIM leads and team members.
• Create and manage content for fully coordinated 3D models across disciplines.
• Produce 2D construction drawings.
• Follow Jacobs design standards and ensure clash-free models.
