Job summary

Ingersoll Rand is seeking a Cooling System Design Engineer to support data center cooling infrastructure—from concept to detailed designs. You will assess chilled water, DX, liquid cooling, and economization options across hyperscale and enterprise environments.

Collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and vendors is essential to deliver efficient, reliable thermal solutions. Key responsibilities include load calculations, CFD support, and ensuring code compliance while driving energy

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in HVAC, mission-critical facilities, or data center infrastructure design.
• 1+ years of experience performing HVAC load calculations and system sizing.

Responsibilities

• Develop conceptual, preliminary, and detailed designs for data center cooling systems.
• Design and optimize chilled water, DX, liquid cooling, air-side and water-side economizers.
• Perform cooling load calculations and thermal analyses for white space and critical areas.
• Develop HVAC layouts, piping schematics, flow diagrams, and equipment specs.
• Evaluate emerging cooling technologies including direct-to-chip and immersion cooling.
• Conduct sizing calculations for chillers, cooling towers, CRAH/CRAC units, pumps and heat exchangers.
