Job summary

Ingersoll Rand is seeking a Cooling System Design Engineer to lead the design, development, and delivery of data center cooling infrastructure for hyperscale and enterprise environments. This role focuses on efficient, reliable, and sustainable thermal management for mission-critical applications.

You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, perform HVAC load calculations, develop layouts, and evaluate new cooling technologies while ensuring compliance with industry standards and project

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in HVAC, mission-critical facilities, or data center design.
• 1+ years of experience performing HVAC load calculations and system sizing.

Responsibilities

• Develop conceptual, preliminary, and detailed designs for data center cooling systems.
• Design and optimize chilled water, direct expansion (DX), liquid cooling, air-side and water-side economization systems.
• Perform cooling load calculations and thermal analyses for white space, support spaces, and critical infrastructure areas.
• Develop HVAC system layouts, piping schematics, flow diagrams, and equipment specifications.
• Evaluate emerging cooling technologies, including direct-to-chip and immersion cooling solutions.
• Ensure designs comply with applicable codes, standards, and industry best practices.
