Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. in Ohio operates a high‑capacity data center environment powered by advanced BMS and EPMS controls.

The Data Center Controls Technician will maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize critical systems across multiple facilities, ensuring uptime and safety. You will mentor Facilities teams, manage small projects, perform commissioning and testing, and document changes while following AWS change management and security standards.

Qualifications

• Basic understanding of Industrial controls systems and troubleshooting with standard tools.
• Experience with low voltage controls, wiring, networking signals, and related electrical/mechanical systems.
• Ability to work non-standard hours and shifts, including overtime as required.
• Familiar with MQTT, BACnet, MODBUS protocols and field device communications.

Responsibilities

• Deploy, service, and upgrade BMS and EPMS in data centers.
• Mentor Facilities team members on BMS/EPMS operation and control.
• Manage small to medium projects and programs.
• Perform point-to-point checks between field devices and controllers.
• Diagnose and maintain BMS/EPMS software and hardware in data centers.
• Configure servers, controllers, industrial PCs, and network settings; test third-party device communications.
• Install and calibrate sensors; read electrical schematics and control drawings.
• Supervise low-voltage electrical contractors; ensure compliance with AWS requirements.
• Provide commissioning support and system-level testing.
• Create red-lined drawings and system documentation.
• Follow change management processes for work requests and procedures.
• Participate in factory witness tests at vendors/panel builders.
