Job summary

Mortenson is seeking a seasoned Project Manager II to lead complex construction projects from design through completion, ensuring quality, safety, timely delivery, and strong financial performance.

You will mentor assistants, manage client relationships, and coordinate with subcontractors while maintaining strict adherence to budget and schedule. This role requires travel up to 100% and a drive for excellence in project delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction, Civil, Electrical, or Architectural Engineering, Construction Management or equivalent.
• Minimum 7 years of construction management on large-scale projects ($20M+).
• Strong financial acumen with budgeting and forecasting.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead project execution from design through completion, ensuring alignment with scope, schedule, and budget.
• Prepare proposals, support pursuit presentations, and participate in contract negotiations.
• Develop and maintain accurate project financials, including projections, billing, and cost control.
• Allocate project estimates into financial systems and manage cost codes and invoicing.
• Oversee subcontractor and supplier selection, contract buyouts, and billing.
• Manage and mentor Assistant Project Managers and Project Engineers, including performance feedback and development.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and on-site representatives, resolving concerns and fostering long-term relationships.
• Manage change orders, ensuring timely submission and approval.
• Ensure compliance with Mortenson’s safety, quality, and risk management standards.
• Promote an inclusive work environment and uphold Mortenson’s values and ethical standards.
• Provide leadership that supports team collaboration, accountability, and high performance.
