Job summary

Sundt is seeking a Project Engineer who acts as the technical information source for project documentation, drawings, and change orders. The role requires coordinating with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors and suppliers while supporting Field Engineers and team development.

Progression exists through three steps (I, II, and Senior) with increasing responsibility and expertise, ensuring thorough knowledge of project management plans and cost control.

Qualifications

• Four-year construction-related degree or equivalent technical training and related experience.
• Minimum of three to four years of similar construction engineering experience.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to supervise/train Field Engineer positions.

Responsibilities

• Understand the project management plan and change management processes.
• Develop procurement schedule and integrate with the project CPM schedule; review submittals.
• Understand contracts, purchase orders, and cost controls; manage budgeting within approved budget.
• Maintain As-built contract documents and close-out requirements (manuals, warranties).
• Assist in concrete form design and takeoffs for concrete, asphalt, earthwork, and utilities.
• Plan, develop and supervise project team members for relentless execution.
• Prepare and maintain quantity reporting and meeting minutes; manage project logs.
• Prepare and review change orders, extend timelines, and distribute documents.
• Identify and quantify potential claims and mitigate effects.
