Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. is seeking a Data Center Construction Manager to oversee the construction of new data centers and capital projects.

You will own scope, schedule, budget, and quality while coordinating with general contractors and internal teams to ensure safe, reliable, and cost-effective builds. The role requires extensive experience in managing large-scale electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems, with strong vendor negotiation and documentation skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of construction management for large, complex projects (MEP).
• Experience with MS Excel, Word, and Windows OS.
• 5+ years of general contractor and vendor management (RFPs, bidding, change orders, Q.C.).

Responsibilities

• Direct interface with general contractors during bidding, award, execution, and closeout.
• Negotiate with general contractors and evaluate bids with detail and accuracy.
• Create project scope and RFPs.
• Perform financial analyses for construction projects.
• Manage construction projects to increase data centers resiliency.
• Review constructability of electrical and mechanical designs.
• Manage construction documents including RFIs, submittals, changes, and invoicing.
• Report key construction metrics to team and management.
• Lead teams and coordinate across internal/external groups.
• Interpret construction specifications and drawings for all domains.
• Define data center system-level architecture and document requirements.
