Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Data Center Construction Manager in Manassas, VA to lead on-site construction activities for new and existing data centers. You will partner with Operations, Networking, Controls, Security, and Commissioning to ensure cost, schedule, and quality targets are met while vendors and contractors are managed effectively.

The role emphasizes driving construction excellence, safety compliance, and close collaboration with internal and external teams to deliver

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
• 5+ years of project management in data centers or comparable critical infrastructure experience.
• Experience in MS Excel, Word, and Windows Operating Systems.
• Experience with power management and power monitoring systems.
• Knowledge of electrical diagrams and standard operating procedures.

Responsibilities

• Direct interface with construction general contractors during bidding, award, execution, and closeout phases.
• Conduct negotiations with general contractors and evaluate bids/proposals with detail and accuracy.
• Create construction project scope and requests for proposals.
• Perform financial analysis of construction.
• Manage construction projects for initiatives increasing data center resiliency.
• Conduct constructability reviews of electrical and mechanical designs for new or optimized data centers.
• Manage construction documents including submittal reviews, RFIs, change orders, and invoicing.
