Job summary

Mortenson is seeking a Commissioning Manager I to drive project commissioning, oversee contract administration, and lead testing across mechanical, electrical, and life-safety systems. This role requires planning and executing commissioning plans with independent judgment on complex assignments.

The position emphasizes collaboration with project teams, development of specifications, and ensuring QA/QC alignment throughout turnover. Travel up to 50% is anticipated.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or 10 years of equivalent field experience.
• Strong communication and client relationship skills required.
• Expert understanding of design, construction, start-up, commissioning, turnover.

Responsibilities

• Perform scope of work technical reviews and provide comments.
• Develop commissioning specs, plans, checklists, and tests for systems.
• Lead field visits, inspections, and tests with technical guidance.
• Direct functional performance tests and schedule commissioning activities.
• Draft technical documents and meeting records for issue resolutions.
