Job summary

Mortenson is seeking a Commissioning Manager I to drive commissioning and contract administration on large, complex projects. The role emphasizes independent judgment in evaluating commissioning techniques and ensuring successful turnover.

Responsibilities include leading field visits, drafting reports, coordinating with project teams, and guiding system tests (NETA, SCADA, controls, and life safety).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Civil, Architectural, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering, or 10 years of equivalent field experience.
• Six+ years of construction management or commissioning experience, preferably with an MEP contractor or commissioning firm.
• Strong communication and client relationship skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead commissioning planning and field tests (NETA, SCADA, controls, life safety).
• Develop commissioning specifications, plans, checklists, and tests for systems.
• Direct field inspections, document issues, and draft final reports.
• Coordinate with project teams to ensure scope alignment and turnover readiness.
