Job summary

Mortenson is seeking a Commissioning Manager I to drive project commissioning and contract administration, leading large, complex assignments and applying independent judgment to select and tailor commissioning techniques. You will develop specifications, plans, checklists, and test protocols for mechanical, electrical, and controls systems, and guide field teams through commissioning activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or 10 years of equivalent field experience.
• Minimum six years of construction management or commissioning experience.
• Knowledge of design/construction documents and QA/QC processes.
• Excellent communication and client relationship skills.
• Understanding of how design, construction and turnover align in project delivery.
• Experience with QA/QC and commissioning processes.

Responsibilities

• Perform scope reviews and provide detailed comments and recommendations.
• Develop commissioning specs and create plans, checklists, and tests for systems.
• Lead field visits, inspections, and provide technical guidance.
• Direct functional performance tests and manage the commissioning plan and schedule.
• Draft technical documents and reports for issue resolutions and lessons learned.
• Conduct training sessions and coordinate across disciplines to resolve issues with contractors.
• Collaborate with scope team and PM to verify scope intent and build collaborative relationships.
• Lead planning and execution of system tests (NETA, SCADA, controls) and operations verification.
