Job summary

Mortenson is seeking a Commissioning Manager II to drive and lead project commissioning and contract administration, applying independent judgment to select commissioning techniques for large, complex assignments.

Responsibilities include developing commissioning plans, leading field inspections, coordinating with project teams, and ensuring test execution (NETA, SCADA, controls). Travel up to 50% is required, with a focus on delivering reliable commissioning outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Civil, Architectural, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering or 10 years of equivalent field experience.
• Minimum seven years of construction management or commissioning experience with an MEP contractor or commissioning firm.
• Experience with QA/QC and Power Purchase Agreements (PPA).
• Ability to travel up to 50%.

Responsibilities

• Review technical scope and provide detailed comments and recommendations.
• Develop commissioning plans, checklists, and tests for collection and control systems.
• Lead field visits, observe inspections/tests, and provide technical guidance.
• Direct functional performance tests in the field and create the commissioning plan and schedule.
• Draft technical documents and finalize reports; capture lessons learned and best practices.
