Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. is seeking a seasoned Chief Engineer to lead data center electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety systems.

You will oversee planned maintenance, corrective work, and emergency responses across facilities, reporting to the Data Center Facility Manager and coordinating with EOTs and contractors. This role drives safety culture, standardizes procedures, and delivers high uptime while managing medium-to-large projects from conception to completion.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of facilities management experience.
• Experience managing medium to large-scale projects.
• Experience reading and writing procedures, technical documents, and engineering drawings.
• 5+ years of administrative experience including Microsoft Office products experience.

Responsibilities

• Setting and maintaining the highest safety standards across operations.
• Driving infrastructure improvements through standardized procedures and policies.
• Collaborating with site engineers and operations teams to streamline maintenance.
• Enabling 100% uptime for customer supporting infrastructure.
• Training and mentoring technical staff on maintenance activities.
• Coordinating with third-party providers for operational excellence.
• Managing build-out and retrofit projects with contractors.
• Ensuring readiness to respond to customer-impacting events.
