Job summary

SB Energy is seeking a Data Center Building Engineer Lead to ensure electrical, mechanical, and fire/safety systems operate at peak efficiency to support 100% uptime. You will lead daily engineering and facility operations on-site in Austin, manage PM programs, and coordinate vendors while focusing on reliability and safe operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or related technical field.
• 5+ years of data center engineering or critical environment operations.
• Experience leading teams, vendors, or both.
• Experience with operating procedures and change control processes.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily engineering and facility operations for safe, efficient performance.
• Oversee maintenance programs and work order management.
• Perform RCA and troubleshooting to prevent recurrence.
• Develop procedures including MOPs, SOPs, and emergency plans.
• Coordinate maintenance and repairs by internal teams and vendors.
• Monitor performance and drive corrective actions to improve reliability.
• Maintain CMMS and related documentation.
• Support budgeting and procurement of parts and tools.
• Ensure safety and compliance in critical environments.
• Support after-hours maintenance and emergency responses.
