Job summary

SB Energy is seeking a Data Center Project Engineer near Austin, TX to lead coordination between GCs, stakeholders, and internal teams for data center projects. You will establish tracking for design changes, RFIs, and change orders with regional leadership oversight.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Engineering/Construction or equivalent experience, 1–3 years in construction or PM, and knowledge of critical facility electrical systems. On-site with competitive compensation and strong benefits.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or related field.
Equivalent construction experience or strong technical background may substitute for the degree.
Experience in data center or mission critical facilities.
1–3 years in construction or project management.
Knowledge of electrical systems in data center operations: UPS, switchgear, PDUs, batteries, generators.
Experience in vendor negotiation and management for data center projects.

Responsibilities

Coordinate communication across data center region general contractors, stakeholders, and internal teams.
Develop and maintain a tracking system for design changes, RFIs, and change orders with regional leadership visibility.
Review MOPs for detail, necessity, and risk.
On-board new vendors for badging and orientation.
Update project management software with milestones, correspondence, and documents.
Monitor delivery of owner furnished material to site and compile construction data from vendors.
Manage checklists including substantial completion, safety, and quality.
