Job summary

Meta is seeking a forward thinking experienced engineer to join the Production Operations team within our Data Centers. These facilities form the foundation for our rapidly expanding infrastructure and services, demanding hands-on Linux and server hardware expertise.

The role emphasizes root-cause analysis, automation, and cross-functional collaboration to improve reliability, efficiency, and serviceability across global data center operations. Expect on-site work with occasional travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or commensurate experience.
• 5+ years in IT infrastructure (SysAdmin/DevOps/SRE).
• Linux expertise in complex IT environments.
• Hands-on server hardware and storage knowledge.
• Understanding interdependencies of data center systems.
• Root-cause analysis and debugging experience.
• Experience with automation and scripting.
• Ability to communicate clearly with stakeholders.
• Knowledge of HTTP, DNS, RAID, DHCP.
• Experience guiding external vendors.

Responsibilities

• Resolve tickets and address root causes, including remote troubleshooting and on-site checks.
• Lead deep dives and RCA for hardware, network, and tooling issues.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on process, hardware, and automation.
• Intro new platforms and hardware to site with partners to accelerate mass production.
• Use data to identify issues and communicate with stakeholders; manage actions.
• Identify hardware issue corrective actions with internal teams and vendors.
• Influence future design changes for serviceability.
• Solve issues at scale using scripting and tooling for global resolutions.
• Continuously improve processes, tools, and systems for efficiency and quality.
• Use data analytics to maximize server uptime and utilization.
• Support and train team members; update tools and processes.
• Provide engineering support and be go-to resource for team and leadership.
• Maintain documentation: runbooks and guides.
• Build cross-functional relationships and influence policies.
• Participate in 24/7 on-call rotation.
• Travel up to 15%.
