Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a hands-on Datacenter Materials Technician in Lockbourne, OH to support inventory, assembly, and cabling in a live datacenter environment.

You will conduct cycle counts, manage material movement, install server racks, and uphold 5S safety standards while delivering strong customer service to on-site stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of related experience required.
• Good interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Critical thinking and good analytical skills.
• Experience with computers required.
• Knowledge of electrical safety and static discharge hazards and protocols required.
• Ability to work with live electrical and electronic equipment and components.
• Must pass required federal/state/local government, airport, or company background checks and clearances.
• Must pass required drug and alcohol tests.
• Ability to push, pull, and lift frequently throughout the workday.
• Ability to operate straddle stackers, rack movers, and electric pallet jacks.

Responsibilities

• Provide and maintain material orders, customer service, inventory management, and customer material movement requests
• Assemble and install servers and electronic components using hand tools, power tools, and measuring devices
• Load and unload inbound and outbound freight
• Perform quality checks for accurate part numbers, quantities, and material condition
• Execute daily inventory cycle counts and replenishment orders for critical datacenter spare parts
• Process electronic-component return shipments using warehouse management systems
• Place server racks on the datacenter floor using laser measuring devices with 100% accuracy
• Populate electronic components and install cabling into server racks following diagrams and schematics
• Install rack hardware using hand, power, and measuring tools
• Operate material-handling equipment
• Perform cleanup activities to maintain safety, cleanliness, and 5S standards
• Adhere daily to safety and process procedures
• Interact with customers and stakeholders on site and build positive working relationships
• Remain flexible and cross-train in multiple datacenter departments
