Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Receive, inspect, and accurately record incoming inventory, including racks, trays, networking equipment, and other hardware.
  • Maintain inventory records and documentation for received and shipped items.
  • Perform stock counts and reconcile discrepancies.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and carriers to schedule inbound and outbound shipments.
  • Prepare shipping documents, labels, and packaging.
  • Upload, unpack, and inspect incoming shipments for accuracy and completeness.
  • Transport inventory using material handling equipment and follow safety procedures.
  • Set up and install computer server racks according to instructions.
  • Assemble server racks using diagrams and guidelines.
  • Support senior technicians with cable management within server racks.

Job description

  • Receive, inspect, and accurately record incoming inventory, including racks, trays, networking equipment, and other hardware
  • Maintain inventory records and documentation for received and shipped items
  • Perform stock counts and reconcile discrepancies
  • Coordinate with suppliers and carriers to schedule inbound and outbound shipments
  • Prepare shipping documents, labels, and packaging
  • Upload, unpack, and inspect incoming shipments for accuracy and completeness
  • Transport inventory by hand using material handling equipment, including pallet jacks, in accordance with safety procedures
  • Maintain clean and organized storage areas and shipping/receiving docks
  • Dispose of packaging materials and obsolete equipment as needed
  • Adhere to safety protocols and data center security measures and access controls
  • Collaborate with data center operations, procurement, and technical support teams
  • Support special projects and other duties assigned by management
  • Set up and install computer server racks according to instructions
  • Assemble server racks using diagrams and guidelines
  • Safely handle basic tools and equipment for installation tasks
  • Support senior technicians with cable management and organization within server racks
Requirements
  • At least 18 years of age
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1 year of experience in logistics, inventory management, or related fields
  • Familiarity with inventory management systems and software
  • Proficiency in basic office software, such as Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Ability to perform basic math calculations, with and without a calculator
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedural documents
  • Familiarity with proper lifting techniques and material handling equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks
  • Ability to lift and move heavy material and perform physical tasks related to server trays and server racks
  • Ability to use power equipment to safely move very heavy server racks according to protocols and safety guidelines
  • Ability to routinely carry objects 3–5 feet weighing up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time exceeding 4 hours
  • Ability to walk continuously for more than 10,000 steps (4–5 miles) per day
  • Ability to bend, stoop, squat, twist, push, and pull objects of various shapes and sizes in a team lift
  • Ability to tolerate hot and cold work environments
  • Availability to work a flexible schedule, including possible overtime when needed
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug test if required after a conditional offer
  • Additional education or certification in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field is preferred
