Xcel Energy Inc. is seeking a Claims Billing Specialist to manage the claims billing process for damage to company-owned facilities. You will investigate claims, gather supporting documents, and use CRS, SAP, and other systems to prepare invoices, reports, and correspondence.

You’ll coordinate with contractors and internal teams to ensure timely, accurate billing and final payment status. The role requires attention to detail, confidentiality, and the ability to handle multiple stakeholders.

Qualifications

• High school diploma.
• Post high school education with emphasis on business-related skills and/or technical, electric or gas utility experience beneficial.
• Attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality required.

Responsibilities

• Work with contractors, third parties and Company employees to obtain proper accident documentation.
• Respond to inquiries on Company Damage Claims and manage correspondence.
• Ensure invoices are prepared and delivered to the responsible party.
• Negotiate payment options and terms with contractors or customers.
• Manage the entire billing process including data entry and final payment information.
• Coordinate with internal resources for claim entry and finalizing status.
• Contact the responsible party to address billing issues and educate as appropriate.
• Process payments from the responsible party or their representative.
• Review unpaid damage claims for reversals or escalation to collections.
• Monitor Bad Debt Reports and record payments received.
