Job summary

Kroger is seeking a store associate to deliver outstanding customer service in the dairy department. You will help customers, answer product questions, and maintain a clean, safe shopping environment consistent with Kroger's standards.

You will assist the department manager in meeting sales and quality goals, monitor product freshness, stock shelves, and reinforce food safety and safety procedures. Bilingual ability and strong communication are valued to serve a diverse customer base.

Qualifications

• Retail experience
• Second language (speaking, reading and/or writing)
• Ability to handle stressful situations
• Effective communication skills
• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction)
• Must be able to perform essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities

• Create an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service.
• Assist the department manager in reaching sales and profit goals established for the department.
• Promote trust and respect among associates.
• Answer questions regarding products sold within the department and throughout the store.
• Gain and maintain knowledge of products sold within the department and respond to questions and make suggestions.
• Inform customers of dairy specials and provide fresh products as ordered.
• Recommend dairy items to ensure customers get what they want.
• Check product quality to ensure freshness and review sell-by dates.
• Label, stock and inventory department merchandise.
• Report product ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
• Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines.
• Maintain proper temperatures and temperature logs.
• Report safety risks or issues and illegal activity.
