Job summary

Maola Local Dairies is seeking a Quality Assurance Supervisor to lead the lab and oversee food safety programs in our Maryland dairy facility. This role focuses on regulatory compliance, SQF implementation, audits, and continuous improvement, with responsibilities spanning data analysis, staff training, and CAPA activities.

The ideal candidate has QA experience in food manufacturing, supervisory skills, and knowledge of SQF/HACCP/FSMA/GMP; PCQI certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED or international equivalent.
• At least two years of quality assurance experience in food manufacturing; dairy preferred.
• At least one year of supervisory experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in food science/biology/chemistry preferred.
• SQF, HACCP, FSMA, GMP knowledge; PCQI certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide strong leadership and support to Lab Technicians to ensure food safety and quality standards.
• Ensure smooth day-to-day lab operation and delegate tasks effectively.
• Create monthly Lab Technician schedule and coordinate coverage for absences/ PTO.
• Develop and implement SQF system; verify and validate its effectiveness.
• Prepare for and support external audits (SQF, regulatory, kosher).
• Drive CAPA activities addressing customer complaints.
• Perform trend analyses and report Quality KPIs including environmental monitoring and shelf-life study results.
