Job summary

Henpen Staffing Consultants is recruiting a Food Safety & Quality (FSQ) Supervisor for a confidential dairy manufacturer in Hyattsville, MD. The role leads daily laboratory operations, supports food safety and quality programs, and ensures products meet regulatory and customer requirements.

The position is full-time, on-site in a manufacturing environment; it requires 2+ years QA experience, 1+ year supervisory experience, and SQF/PCQI readiness.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with QA experience in food manufacturing.
• 2+ years QA experience in food manufacturing, biology, or a related field.
• 1+ year of supervisory or team leadership experience.
• SQF Practitioner qualification through certification or experience.
• Ability to obtain PCQI certification.
• Strong communication, recordkeeping, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead, train, and develop Lab Technicians; manage schedules and coverage.
• Oversee daily laboratory operations, testing procedures, equipment, supplies, and departmental spending.
• Maintain laboratory SOPs and employee training.
• Support SQF, regulatory audits, and other external audits.
• Drive CAPA investigations including customer complaints.
• Analyze and report quality metrics, environmental monitoring, and shelf-life data.
• Provide laboratory coverage as needed per labor agreements.
• Serve as backup to the FSQ Manager.
