Job summary

Saputo Cheese USA Inc. is seeking a Semi-Skilled Labor for a 24/7 production facility. You will help with filling, packaging, and line changeovers, ensuring quality by following SOPs and safety guidelines.

The role requires lifting up to 50 lbs, operating pallet jacks, and strict adherence to GMP and food safety standards. This union position offers competitive pay of $25.09–$26.59 per hour plus a $0.85 shift differential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of (2)-two years of demonstrated work experience in food manufacturing, dairy food manufacturing experience preferred.
• Advanced quality/food safety training and/or certifications is a plus, but not required.
• Strong math skills.
• Strong technical skills, ability to operate and understand equipment controls, touch panels and mechanical operations.
• Lift truck certification or ability to obtain lift truck certification (Powered Industrial Trucks) per OSHA standards.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Good PC skills, efficiency with MS Excel and ERP applications, SAP preferred.
• Demonstrated work history.
• Demonstrated good attendance is a must.

Responsibilities

• Provide rest breaks, meal periods and day off relief for team members in the filling and packaging positions.
• Safe and efficient operation of production filling and packaging equipment to include: product infeed, fill systems, case forming, packaging, case packing and palletizing equipment.
• Set-up, operate and replenish fiber gluer and/or taping equipment.
• Follow standard operating procedures (SOP's) in detail without deviation.
• Collect routine product samples and perform routine seal integrity testing to inspect the packaging for leaks, tears and perform required fill package inspections for quality assurance.
• Generate pallet identification labels in accordance to the production schedule.
• Set-up case coding equipment and validate product case codes in accordance with code specifications.
• Verify and record accurate product case quantities.
• Identify and effectively communicate any out-of-specification product conditions.
• Follow established notification protocol.
• Perform routine equipment adjustments and preventive maintenance inspections.
• Accurately and neatly complete production records, reports and documents.
• Perform equipment change-overs, clean-up operations and equipment set-up.
• Perform environmental controls.
• Safe operation of pallet jack.
• Perform product reclaim and rework operations in accordance with reclaim guidelines.
• Support internal and external audits.
• Follow all established occupational health and safety procedures.
• Follow all established GMP's and Food Safety requirements.
• Cross-train with other departments.
• Perform good housekeeping within established housekeeping guidelines.
• Comply with federal, state and local dairy food regulations.
• Adhere to the Saputo Code of Ethics and actively apply the Saputo values.
• Work together professionally in a team environment with coworkers and other department personnel.
• Other duties as required by management.
