Job summary

Saputo Cheese USA, Inc. is hiring for a production packaging role focused on safe, efficient operation of packaging equipment, plus change-overs and line setup.

You will verify product codes, quantities, and dates, and ensure strict adherence to SOPs, quality and safety standards. The role requires working knowledge of dairy manufacturing processes, an ability to use lift trucks, and strong math and communication skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years in food manufacturing; dairy preferred.
• Quality/food safety training or certifications are a plus.
• Familiarity with SQF, QA/QC, CQP, QAP, HACCP, SOP, 5S, GMP, etc.
• Ability to obtain/maintain a Lift Truck certification.
• Strong math skills and technical aptitude for equipment controls.
• Drug screen and background check required.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated work history and good attendance.

Responsibilities

• Safe and efficient operation of production packaging equipment including case forming, packaging, and palletizing.
• Set-up, operate, and replenish fiber gluer and taping equipment.
• Follow SOPs in detail without deviation.
• Generate pallet labels; verify case quantity, product, ID and dates.
• Set-up case coding equipment and validate product case codes.
• Verify and record accurate product case quantities.
• Communicate out-of-spec conditions and follow notification protocol.
• Perform routine equipment adjustments and safe lift truck operation.
• Complete production records neatly and accurately.
• Perform change-overs, cleaning, and setup; maintain environmental controls.
• Product reclaim and rework per guidelines; support audits.
• Follow occupational health, safety, GMPs, and food safety requirements.
• Cross-train with other departments; maintain housekeeping.
• Comply with dairy regulations and Saputo ethics and values.
• Collaborate with coworkers and other departments; perform other duties as needed.
