You'll direct clerks, manage stock, and drive sales while upholding sanitation standards and safety guidelines. Strong communication and leadership skills are essential, with prior retail grocery experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old with a minimum of 2 years' retail grocery experience.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
• Knowledge of personnel reports, margin reports, weekly sales numbers, and financial goals.
• Outgoing, friendly demeanor toward team members and customers.
• Ability to answer phones and take special orders.
• Ability to perform general housekeeping and sanitation in the department.
• Ability to operate store equipment (knives, scales, wrappers, pallet jacks, hand trucks).
• Able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Give direction to clerks in the department while overseeing presentation and sanitation standards.
• Process and stock products according to dairy standards.
• Deliver outstanding customer service.
• Provide overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the department.
• Control inventory to maximize sales and minimize stock loss.
• Ensure proper product rotation and freshness; remove out-of-code items.
• Manage price changes within the department.
• Coach and develop team members; conduct performance reviews.
• Attend and participate in in-store meetings.
• Recruit, hire, and promote staff in collaboration with Store Manager.
• Address team concerns with independent judgement and apply corrective actions as needed.
• Create schedules and adjust staffing levels for productivity.
