Job summary

Sprouts Farmers Market is seeking a Dairy Manager to oversee the Dairy Department, drive sales, and maintain high freshness and customer service standards in a fast-paced store environment. You will direct clerks, manage inventory and pricing, coach staff, schedule shifts, and ensure safety and compliance while delivering the best possible shopping experience for customers.

The role requires 2+ years retail grocery experience, strong communication, flexible availability, and a focus on teamwork

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age with a minimum of 2 years' retail grocery experience.
• Good communication skills; ability to take direction within a team.
• Must have a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Possess working knowledge of personnel reports, margin reports, weekly sales numbers, and financial goals.
• Outgoing and friendly behavior toward team members and customers.
• Be able to answer phones and take special orders.
• Stand up to 3 hours continuously; lift up to 40 lbs with assistance.
• Adhere to safety, health, and Weights and Measures regulations; obtain Food Handlers permit.

Responsibilities

• Manage Dairy Department activities to maximize sales and profits.
• Direct clerks and oversee presentation and sanitation on the sales floor and backroom cooler.
• Process/stock products according to dairy standards.
• Deliver outstanding customer service.
• Provide direction, coordination, and evaluation of the department.
• Control inventory to stock levels using proper ordering techniques to maximize sales and minimize stock loss.
• Rotate products to ensure freshness; remove out-of-code items.
• Manage price changes within the department.
• Coach and develop team members; conduct bi-annual performance reviews.
• Attend in-store meetings.
• Recruit, hire and promote/transfer decisions with Store Manager.
• Address team member concerns; take corrective actions and manage performance.
