Job summary
Prime Healthcare St Francis Hospital in Evanston, IL seeks a Cytology Supervisor to lead daily cytology lab operations, including gynecologic and non-gynecologic testing, with emphasis on accuracy, compliance and staff development. The role requires ASCP Cytotechnologist certification or a CAAHEP-accredited cytotechnology program and at least three years of full-time cytotechnologist experience.

Qualifications
- ASCP Cytotechnologist certification, or equivalent per CLIA guidelines
Responsibilities
- Supervise daily cytology lab operations, including gynecologic and non-gynecologic specimens
- Coordinate staffing schedules and workflow for efficiency
- Perform and oversee microscopic evaluation of cytology specimens for diagnostic accuracy
- Assist pathologists during FNA procedures and adequacy assessments
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting of cytology results in LIMS
- Monitor productivity and turnaround times per regulatory standards
- Lead staff training, onboarding, and continuing education programs
- Develop and update cytology policies, procedures, and SOPs
- Maintain cytology quality assurance programs and proficiency testing
- Prepare for and assist in regulatory inspections and audits
